This movie sinks in deep. The scenes..the score. The soul. The courage. The guts. This movie has it all. I rate it a solid 9/10.

First  of all the references for the people who did not get it:

1. Flash scene:
Flash, Ezra Miller, travels back in time to warn Bruce that he was always right about Superman. He IS an evil god. The "Key" to him being good is his only connection to humanity, Lois Lane. (Reference: Crisis on Infinite Earths, where Flash travels through time to warn Bruce about the impending danger).

2. The nightmare sequence:
Batman dreams. He catches a glimpse of a future where Superman has an army of his own. Supes is evil. Because he cannot connect to humanity anymore. Lois, his only connection to humanity is dead. And he somehow holds Bruce responsible. Bruce is a part of the resistance against Superman where he tried to purchase kryptonite from smugglers in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by Superman. But he was sabotaged. Superman killed him by driving his hand through his chest. (Comic book reference: The Red Son where Supes owns an army, Injustice: Gods among earth where Supes turns evil after the death of Lois, and Superman: The Dark Side).
3. Superman saving people on "night of the dead":
Reference to Superman: Peace on Earth where Superman tries to save everyone on earth but fails.

4. Superman having a second thought about humanity accepting him as a saviour and not as a God:
Read Kingdom Come for God's sake.
5. Batman Kills:
Read The Dark Knight Returns. Batman is an old nutcase who kills. But in the movie he believes "Men are Still Good" and swears that he won't "fail Superman in death". It shows that he has changed as he did not "brand" Lex.

6. Lex's rant in the end:
The Bell has rung. This signifies that Superman is dead and Darkseid is coming. Even  Lex's dad's painting was turned upside down to signify that evil approaches.

7. The Cameos from video footage:
First one was Flash, Second one Aquaman, third was Cyborg (come on people, you got it right?)

8. Batman V Superman fight:
From The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. The way they resolved the fight over their mother's name "MARTHA" was nothing less than tear jerking.
9. Trinity V Doomsday:
Read Superman Death of Superman. He sacrifices himself for his world. It finally shows how much he loved this world.
10. Death of Superman:
Bruce, Diana and the whole world get what Superman means and name him the icon he deserves to be.

THE MOVIE:
This is a dark and gritty movie. Its made for comic book fans. For the people who actually read comic books and are familiar with it. It is dark. Goes serious places where no comic book superhero movie has gone before (take the marvel movies for example). And WB had the guts to do this. I would give it to them. No other studio could make a movie as operatic as this with "ROOTS AND VISUALS" so deep into the source material. The fight choreography, the music, the war, the story, it was nothing less than OPERATIC.

This, in turn, poses a threat. Normal viewers won't get it. Even creators who worked on Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman have their own version on what canon to neglect and what to accept.
And there is the PROBLEM with EDITING & EXPOSITION OF THE COMIC BOOK REFERENCES, which if done in the right manner could have received lesser heat from the watchers

People may call these references a "hack", same as the name given to Zack Snyder. But that is true fanboyism. As someone pointed out, this is NOT a movie for:
1. Haters
2. Critics
3. Nostalgics
4. Cheerleaders for another franchisee

This movie is for dedicated DC fans, fanboys to be precise.

Through BvS, Snyder took us to the light. A beautiful lie...❤️
